Local Events 6th of May

Curlieu Wheelers were out in force over the Bank holiday weekend participating in different local events. There was a large present of Wheelers at the Local Duathlon In Lough Key Forest Park in association with the Ciara Grehan Foundation.  Well done to fellow club members David Gunning and Roy Kelly and Local Man Tommy Sherdian on the hard work , time and effort than went into the organisation of what has quickly become a hugely anticipated event in the North West.


Congratulations to all Curlieu Wheelers who won the following sections:
First Local Male: Martin Supple
Second Local: Peter Gavigan
Third Local: Alan Tiernan
All displaying fantastic times with Martin having a very strong bike time of 34.43. A great start to the season.
Second Overall Female: Sarah Neary with a great 5km run time of 19.21
Second  Local Junior: Conor Neary ; Definitely one to watch for the future.



Well done to Joan Gardner, Enda Madden, Aileen Madden,Damien Regan, Kiernan O Reilly, Margaret Hayden, Carmel Mc Golderick, Hanora Lavin especially people who have completed there first multi sport event.


Thanks to all marshals who came out from the club to give their time to help out.

Well done to all Wheelers (Ray Hannon, Kevin Mullen, Brian Mc  Mahon, Veronica o Connor, Gavin Brenann and Gary Daly) who completed the  Sligo An Post Tour . They also enjoyed  glorious sunshine  and ideal conditions for the Leisure cycle  covering distances of 60km / 100km/160km.


Weekly Spins:Regular spins continue to run every Tuesday evening from St Josephs Boys National School at 7.00pm sharp. (All levels of fitness will be catered for) and Sunday morning 9.30am Advanced,11.00am intermediate and beginners. ( Same start point)

Training time trials take place on Thursday the 17th at 7.00pm at the(Doon turn off at East Brothers)in  the direction of Sligo on the main N4. It will be 10km distance. For more details email the above address.
